CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

I love Harry Potter. No, seriously, I LOVE HARRY POTTER. I’ve read each book at least 3 times. I’ve read book 1 about 20 times or so. As a matter of fact, I have two of the books on my desk for quick reference.

BOOK 5 SPOILER: I’ve read the prophecy hundreds of times. I change my mind on its meaning almost every time I read it.

Yeah, it’s like that.

So, the story…

Yesterday was a day spent in true Chris fashion. I woke up, ran a couple quick errands, then got home as quickly as possible to play Zelda. Sweet, sweet, Zelda. After watering all of the Island Koroks, I went upstairs to smell the savory mix of stewed beef, tomatoes, and a miriad of herbs and spices. Milca’s mom was making spinach raviolis from scratch. The pasta, the filling, the works. What’s really great is that I had to go to rehearsal, so I would be getting home just in time to need to reheat the raviolis. Yay.

Rehearsal went well, but it has been fairly tiring doing the same first 5 seconds of a scene over and over and over again because we need to figure out the best way to arrange citronella candles. Ugh. I’m loving my character. Just need to be off book by Friday.

I get home to find that the whole family is still there, just finishing dessert. I make my rounds and say hello to all the family members, then Milca says to me, “Sit down.”

Aww, crap.

“I need to tell you something, and you need to sit down.”

Crap, crap.

“Vanessa called.”

Wait, not crap. ???

“She has two extra tickets for tomorrow night to see the premiere of Goblet of Fire.”

This is when I proceeded to crap my pants.

Sure enough, I called Vanessa, and she really is the bomb. She has scored so big on Loop points, it’s unreal. I’m on cloud nine, and can’t express my giddiness and gratitude.

Vanessa rocks!

Ender

My first day on retention, trying to save customers, and as of now have only been able to take one call. I saved this customer, so my score right now is perfect. I feel like Ender after the battle when he defied Bonzo and fired, how his stats were perfect on the boards.

I also like that I can’t work right now because my log in is broken. Ahh, the simple pleasures.

Huey Lewis

Seriously, “Back in Time” has been going through my head these past couple days. I’ve found 3 old elementary/middle school classmates on MySpace. These are people that I haven’t heard from in ages (12 years or so).

My elementary years are not typically fond memories, but not because of any my classmates. Well, we all have those people we once knew that drove us up a wall, but the classmates I’ve contacted weren’t “that guy.”

It’s a trip thinking that 12 years ago I was leaving that class of people I’d known for 8 years in some cases and joining an all new school with all new people that I’d never met before. Seriously, there are people that I haven’t seen since that day, which is sad.

MySpace, you are doing your job. I salute you.

fermez les portes. ouvrez la fenêtre.

The two positions that I interviewed for have gone to other people. Given that I have been here less than a year, I wasn’t bitter. The people that got the positions were almost intuitive choices, were almost overqualified, and are good people.

Two of the people that are moving on were on the retention team, which means they have need of some new agents. I was approached for one of these positions. These agents get incentives for saving members. These incentives manifest themselves in real life as green cloth pressed with the likenesses of deceased statesmen. These pieces of green cloth pressed with the likenesses of deceased statesmen are a favorite of The Loop.

We’ll see.

Friday: Work (9-6) Rehearsal (7-10)
Saturday: Nothing

If I don’t see any of you that much in the month of November, it’s not because I hate you. Saturdays are open, but this is also the one day to spend time with Milca, and that’s typically what I do with my scarce free time.

Hit me up. We like to eat dinner, and tend to do it once a day. Sometimes we do it in groups with other people.

God, I’m evil. 🙂

Paul

It’s official. I got the part. This means that I will have even less of a social life, which was fairly non existant as is. It also means that I’m going to be on stage, in my element, and on cloud nine. The part is essentially the comic relief, but I get to touch on both ends of the spectrum there, so I’m really giddy. More info on show times to follow.

WOOT!

The Masquerade

My boy Justin was running a game of Vampire with a group of buddies that ran a good 2-3 years. There has been a fairly long hiatus, which is about to end rather soon. I, and the rest of the group, are giddy as little school girls. When Justin sent the email saying that he was writing game again, I pulled my books out, went over my character sheet, and got back in to the zone. I have since then sent Justin my intentions for game, and went over what my character, Severin Geringer, has been doing in the 7 years that have passed in game since our last session. I’m very stoked.

Almost as a refresher, I was here at work talking to my supervisor, and couldn’t help but think that I was already in game. If our conversation were happening in game, there would have been a lot of Man+Sub and Per+Sub rolls, some Man+Ldr thrown in for good measure, and some Apr+Sub thrown in there. Seriously, all the jobs, all the extra curricular activities, and all of the social circles aside, playing role playing games has to be one of the best things I could have ever done to survive in a corporate America. Now if I could only get me some points in Presence, I’d be set.
