Vacation

That’s right, I’ve been on vacation and haven’t posted. Really, I don’t know where the week went, but I’m glad that I have tomorrow off, and I’m actually looking forward to going back to work. I guess their silly ploy of “time off” worked. Ugh.

Just one small tale to tell, which I kept forgetting to post. I had dropped Milca off at work one day, and while circling around the busy parking lot I noticed a father and daughter in my rear view reading my bumper stickers while I was stopped. This happens frequently, and I heard the daughter say “Voldemort,” or some other Harry Potter word (I can’t remember exactly what it was, but it made me aware that they were reading my “Republicans for Voldemort” sticker).

They kept walking towards the front of the car, and the father was looking at me with a smile, chuckling. This is what realized first, then I turned forward.

Then I realized I recognized the guy, gave him a quick double take to try and put the pieces together, and looked forward again.

Then it clicked, and I stuck my head out the window and yelled, “I love your show!” to Dr. Drew, who is apparently a liberal, or at the very least thinks that our president and Harry’s bane have similarities. Pasadena rocks.

Hook

I believe that every door, with the exception of a door that might have a peep hole, should have a hook.  Period.

I’m partial to the double hook, as if the guy making it knew that I’d have a bag and my jacket that I’d want to put somewhere while I did my business.  Genius.

So, do yourself a functional favor and put some hooks on your doors.  You won’t be sorry.

Jamba Loop

Each of the things in my life I enjoy, and make me a better person.  I am much happier now than I’ve been in a long time, and it is because I have tried to fill my life with all of the things that I kept saying “I wish I had the time to…” about.  I have hit a snag, though.  My list of things that I wish I had time for is longer than my time permits.  Each of these activities is an ingredient tossed in to the blender that is my Jamba Loop.

First and foremost, any time I order my Jamba Loop, there’s always Milca in it, which is good.  However, I can never get around the fact that it has to have work in it, too, which is lame.

These are big ingredients, and I can’t use any less work, so if I add anything to the Jamba Loop that demands space in the cup, Milca inevitably spills out the sides.  Theater is a good example.  Every night this week I will be in rehearsals after work, and we open Thursday.  So, this week’s Jamba Loop doesn’t have much Milca in it.  When school is in session, there’s more room for Milca…  unless there’s also theater in it.  I find that when school and theater are in the Jamba Loop at the same time, they cause fermentation that expands the mix.

There was a time when my Jamba Loop contained little else but friends, and I’m not talking Matthew Perry shenanigans.  Nowadays with all of the other ingredients taking up so much space, all I can really manage are boosts of friends.  From the sounds of it, everyone else’s Jamba is about where mine is, with the exception that I’m married, and see everyone less than most.

This is the last week of school.  The play is officially over Saturday.  Next week I’m on vacation.

Next week there is no school, work, or play.  There is, however, Valentine’s Day, Milca’s birthday (also the day that I asked her out on our first date), and Milca’s dad is coming in to town.

My Jamba Loop is about to change flavors rapidly.

I’d recommend you take this test.  I did, and now I know I’m a borderline Socialist.  That doesn’t really surprise me much.  I do wear red a lot, after all.

Tyranny!

They’ve finally done it.  They’ve blocked myspace from work.  This is likely because most, if not all, of us use it, and go there fairly often.  It is how I keep in touch with a fair number of people, so this really blows.

I still have vagueidea, and windows games, but I might crack soon…

I might have to actually work.
